Hebb and Kennedy Join Labor Day Music Festival Lineup

NASHVILLE, Tenn.
- Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician Bobby Hebb and session guitarist extraordinaire Gordon Kennedy will join the lineup for the Labor Day music festival, Music City J.A.M. (Jazz And More) on Sunday, Aug. 31 in Nashville's Riverfront Park. Hebb and Kennedy will join J.A.M.'s all-star roster for special performances with jazz great and festival host Kirk Whalum and show headliner Peter Frampton.

Hebb wrote and recorded the song "Sunny" which hit #1 on the charts in 1966 and is one of the most recorded songs in pop music history. He began his career in Nashville performing with his family, and later with Roy Acuff and the Smokey Mountain Boys at the Grand Ole Opry. Hebb has performed all over the world including a stint on the Beatles' final American Tour.

Kennedy has hundreds of sessions under his belt and a stint with award-winning Christian band Whiteheart. In addition, he has penned songs for a number of mainstream artists, including Eric Clapton, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, George Strait, Wynonna, Patty Loveless, Susan Ashton and PFR. His Grammy-winning hit "Change the World" was co-written with Tommy Sims and Wayne Kirkpatrick. The song found its way to Eric Clapton and Babyface, who performed and produced the song for the movie soundtrack of the hit "Phenomenon." The single spent 13 weeks at #1 on both the Billboard and R&R charts, and won three 1996 Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year.
